New York Trip Report

On 15 November 2008 my girlfriend fiancée and I went to New York City for 7 days in what turned out to be our most second most amazing holiday ever. I took the photographs (of which there were thousands) and she kept the diary. We managed to cram a ridiculous amount into the short time we had there but what a fantastic time it was. Single File HDR Tutorial

So yesterday we had the day off work and we decided to go to Anstruther (admittedly, we fancied trying the award winning fish & chips at the Anstruther Fish Bar). Photofriday: Thanks (and Sorry)

What’s the point in having a blog if you’re not allowed to use it to show off a little every now and again? OK, so it’s not as if I’ve won some incredibly prestigious photography competition (what? some of you disagree??) but it is nice when one of your images gets voted a “noteworthy” by the visitors of Photofriday. The theme for this one was “Dusk” for those of you who are still reading…

The Key to a Successful Night Shot?

Answer: Patience. Oh, and gloves too! So today I intended to go out for a quick wander around Hollyrood Park and the Royal Mile (which are both near where I live in Edinburgh) this afternoon and then grab a sandwich. Naturally I took my camera with me, but I wasn’t planning on staying out for long (I was hungry!). I forgot quite how early the sun goes down at this time of year and soon found myself standing on North Bridge looking at the beginning of a beautiful sunset…
