Very informative, I'll consider that when I'll go out taking some night shots. On a second thought, though, I'll wait till Spring ;-)

An oft overlooked magical element to night photography is the joy of going through your photos in the warm, remembering just how cold you were when you took them!

John,

I have been a big fan of your website(s) and have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful pictures of Edinburgh by day and night. Quite inspiring. Love this blog as well. Its amazing how at a young age you are able to travel to so many places and shoot such soulful pictures. I am a novice to DSLR and use Nikon D50.

Congrats!!

Thanks, Laura!

Just checked out your blog - some really great images there. Really enjoyed the underwater ones and the empty swimming pool.

Thanks, John

Thank you for this very informative story. I had never thought about it way (often thought the best light had already passed), but ofcourse it makes sense what you're saying and I'll definitly take your advice in the future.

(Only thing is that I absolutely hate being cold!) ;)

I'm looking forward to more stories!
